.When Inspector Franz Leitmayr is forced to shoot an
armed suspect threatening a young trainee, he winds up in the midst of a
disciplinary hearing - and begins to doubt his own grip on reality.
Inspector Franz Leitmayr has a toothache - and that's
not the only pain he's got: Police trainee Julia Winters is assigned to their
buddy team for a few weeks, whether he and his partner Batic like it or not. On
their way to a workshop, they get called to check out a burning vehicle on a
deserted farm lot, only to have the car explode before their eyes when they
arrive. Before the explosion, they caught a glimpse of someone sitting on the
passenger seat. It looks like a crime and not just an accident. When they
investigate the farmhouse, they find an armed man, and a dangerous standoff
ensues. In the end, Leitmayr has to shoot the man dead to protect his new
colleague Julia. Before he knows it, Leitmayr is caught up in a disciplinary
hearing of his conduct, finding out the man he shot lives right next door from
him - and the gun was a toy. Leitmayr starts to doubt his own grip on reality
as well?
