Gwaii Haanas - Wild Beauty in the Pacific (1/5)

Gwaii Haanas National Park is on Haida Gwaaii, an archipelago off the west coast of Canada. Many of its 138 islands and islets are covered by dense rainforest. Species of trees like the giant cedar, hemlock spruce and Sitka pine thrive here together with numerous rare and endangered animals like the largest subspecies of the American black bear, the bald eagle and the tufted puffin. Orcas and humpback whales, seals and Stellar sea lions frolic in the sea. It is the first national park in the world to conserve its entire area - from mountain peaks to sea floor.
