Antoni Mazur (Frank Jendrzytza) is found dead in a gravel pit, around 500 meters from the Camino
de Santiago, which leads directly through Brandenburg. The dead man, a Polish citizen, was
apparently walking the Camino with a large group of pilgrims. The first to arrive on the scene is an
officer from the nearby police station in Lebus, Karl Rogov (Frank Leo Schröder), who immediately
gets to work questioning the pilgrims. For Detective Chief Superintendent Vincent Ross (André
Kaczmarczyk) this support is hugely welcome, as he has been working alone since Adam's departure.
It transpires that Mazur had massive financial problems and was facing insolvency. His wife Lina
(Katrin Heller) and father Klaudiusz (Roman Wieslaw Zanowicz) tell the detectives of the enormous
pressure he was coming under from the liquidator Udo Schick (Bernhard Schir) and his debt
counselor Jonathan Hüter (Godehard Giese). When they discover that the liquidator had collected
his daughter Maria Schick (Anna-Maria Bednarzik) from the pilgrimage route, shortly before the
death of Antoni Mazur, the finger of suspicion points to him: What does the "God of Bankruptcy"
know?
