Episode 06 - Strange Decisions From the Past Are Seeing the Light

Patricia’s suspicion is raised. She visits the house and confronts Theo. Her father supposedly paid several million Euros for this shed… Something isn’t right! Theo again claims to have no idea what she’s talking about, he was simply allowed to live out his retirement in this modest house.

An interesting business opportunity has opened up for Patricia. MegaFarma, a German pharma giant, wants to partner up with EternoFarma so the company needs to be in top shape. They can’t afford to have any skeletons in the cupboard and Patricia is certain Theo knows more than he’s willing to share.

Felix insists to visit Theo again, but his friends object. To Noor and Sammy, Theo is a dead end. Felix convinces Ella that he really needs to do whatever it takes for his mom, as she would have done the same. Ella understands and agrees to join him. Together they confront Theo once more. The conversation escalates and in a fit of rage Felix abducts Theo’s beloved pet rat, Cleo. At the swimming pond, Sammy and Noor walk in on Ella and Felix as they are about to kiss. When they spot Cleo, Sammy and Noor are very upset. Felix explains their plan to blackmail Theo for information using his pet. Noor strongly disagrees with this method, Sammy feels discarded by his best friend. The group falls apart.

Thomas and Felix grow closer when Felix catches his dad still making his bed in the living room and offers for him to use his mom’s bedroom.

In exchange for Cleo Theo agrees to tell Felix and Ella the truth about Marijke. He explains that she was exposed to a very dangerous and illegal - but genius - new medicine called Infinivit. This product was developed to lengthen one’s lifespan. It worked brilliantly, at least with rats. He reveals Cleo has been alive since 1989. On humans however, it proved highly toxic. EternoFarma paid a large sum of money to Jos to ensure that Marijke got some kind of treatment but they never disclosed what it was that made Marijke sick, as this would have destroyed EternoFarma.

In an effort to control the damage done by the rat-abduction, Noor and Sammy set out to apologise to Theo. Upon their arrival to his house, they spot Patricia. Noor and Sammy hide and eavesdrop on the conversation. They discover a horrible truth: as Theo tells Patricia that Felix forced him to disclose information about a dangerous product called Infinivit, he also reveals that barrels full of the toxic stuff were dumped in 1989, somewhere underground in Roegerhout. Patricia is shocked but immediately decides the barrels will stay wherever they are. She can’t risk losing the company. Noor and Sammy hurry back to warn Felix and Ella. Felix, still processing the news, returns home, where an unpleasant surprise awaits him: his dad and Patricia are having a cosy barbecue in his own backyard.
