Episode 01 - Felix Discovers His Old Walkman Has a Special Feature

Summer break. Felix (13) and his best friends Sammy (13) and Noor (12) hang out by the swimming pond, their secret hiding place in the woods in their town of Roegerhout. Sammy, an aspiring documentary-maker, spends his days filming everything around him and Noor is constantly working on numerous scientific projects in her makeshift lab at the pond. Felix likes to listen to his vintage walkman, collect stuff from the past and spend time with his friends.

Felix’ life recently changed drastically, as his mom Marijke passed away due to a mysterious, lifelong disease. Thomas (46), Felix’ estranged father, has moved in with him and his grandmother Jos (70), but they don’t know each other very well and it’s difficult for them to connect.

Then, something strange happens. Felix’ vintage walkman, which he inherited from his mom, picks up unfamiliar sounds and voices. Together with Sammy and Noor, Felix learns where the sounds are coming from: the year 1989! First, they have a lot of fun, using the walkman to listen to this bizarre and funny era. But then, everything changes. Felix picks up a disturbing conversation. A certain “Walter” was murdered, and two men were instructed to hide his body. The acoustic tracks lead to a warehouse of EternoFarma, a huge pharmaceutical factory nearby. Felix and his friends wonder, did the two men cover up a murder? Then, Felix makes another baffling discovery. Someone else was trying to figure out what happened to Walter in 1989… None other than is own mom, Marijke!

After hearing her voice, Felix wants to find out who Walter was and why Marijke was looking for him. Armed with shovels, Felix and his friends start digging behind the soccer canteen. Their hard work is interrupted when they accidentally shower the sassy new-kid-on-the-block Ella (13) with sand. She angrily takes off but leaves Felix fascinated. As the three friends continue digging, they make a horrifying discovery: a skeleton!
