Family Ties

On the way to the Gentner distillery, hikers find the body of Sebastian Wenger. After years the history student from Munich has returned to his home town of Berchtesgaden to write the anniversary publication for the traditional distillery. Patriarch Franz Gentner and his son Hubert don't want to know anything about a conflict - just as little as distiller Loisl Bartels. Beissl soon finds out that the dead man had an affair with Kati, the distiller’s daughter, and that she is expecting a child from him. This puts both Loisl and Kati's fiancé Clemens Brandner under suspicion. But Jerry stumbles upon another secret that is closely interwoven with the young man's family history.

The stories of a mismatched pair of detectives and their family entanglements provide the perfect blend of incidental humor, family life and a varied array of criminal cases all set against the imposing backdrop of the magnificent Alps. What else could you want in a successful police series?

In the German early evening schedule, the premiere broadcast of the first season was a huge success pulling in three million viewers.
