Our heroes head to the Thieves’ Cave, not knowing that the Chief Thief has already cut a deal with Dunyazad to make him Sultan of the Crystal City in exchange for trapping Sherazade and Karim. Meanwhile Osman decides that he can no longer serve the false Sultan, and quietly begins his revolt. Inside the Thieves’ Cave our heroes find a map that reveals the true location of the Tree of Life: right under their feet at the Lost Temple! But before they can act they fall victim to Dunyazad’s sleep vapor, with only Halil staying awake. As Dunyazad tries to decipher what our heroes already know, Halil secretly wakes and frees Sherazade and Karim, and they steal the key and escape. But Dunyazad expected this and has her imps follow them, to lead her straight to the Tree of Life.
